Samsung has silently launched the third variant in the Galaxy Book 5 lineup, called Galaxy Book 5 Edge, powered by the Snapdragon X chipset, in the UK.
Earlier this year, in March, Samsung officially launched its Galaxy Book 5 series, which includes two variants, as mentioned below –
- Galaxy Book 5, Galaxy Book 5 Pro, and Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360
A report (via official website) reveals that the company has now silently added a new variant in the lineup named Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G for purchase on the Samsung UK website. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processor, suitable for slim and lightweight Windows laptops. This processor boosts up to 3.0GHz and is integrated with an Adreno GPU & a Hexagon NPU.
The company assures that the NPU handles advanced on-device AI tasks, which qualifies the laptop for Copilot+ PC certification.

The newly launched Galaxy Book 5 Edge features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with an anti-glare finish, and measures 15.5mm in thickness and weighs about 1.66kg. The device is available in a 16GB LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB eUFS storage variant. Coming to the battery package, it has a 61.5Wh battery and includes a 65W USB-C charger in the box.
Samsung offered a 2MP webcam, dual 1.5W speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, and dual-array microphones. It has other notable compatibilities, such as Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 support, 5G Sub-6 networks through a built-in SIM slot, two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A port, HDMI 2.1 with support for 4K at 60Hz, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone and mic combo jack.
The Galaxy Book 5 Edge 5G is available in a Sapphire Blue finish variant at £949 in the UK. Currently, there’s no confirmation regarding the expansion of the device in other markets.
