Samsung Display collabs with TSK to jointly develop Blue OLED materials

Samsung Display is now collaborating with TSK to create eco-friendly Blue OLED materials, which seem to enhance the display performance while addressing environmental challenges.

Recently, it’s been reported that Samsung Display has been ordered to supply nearly 3 million OLED panels for the iPad mini 2026. Meanwhile, a new report has now revealed that the company is considering partnering with TSK Corporation to develop new blue OLED display materials.

If this partnership comes into existence, then it will be the first time that Samsung has chosen a venture company for joint development. The key aim of the collaboration is to upgrade display performance while promoting sustainable development.

Samsung Display will now use TSK’s innovative iron catalyst technology, instead of the traditional palladium catalysts used in OLED materials. This will be efficient since iron is abundant, less expensive, and more environmentally friendly.

Apart from this iron catalyst technology, TSK has also developed a new compound that could be a key part of OLED materials. Notably, the early testing reveals that it has the potential to outperform existing products, offering better efficiency and longer lifespan.

It’s expected that this collaboration will efficiently reduce reliance on scarce metals and use more eco-friendly processes, and will introduce a new standard for sustainable OLED technology.
