Galaxy S26 Ultra’s ‘Black’ variant could have a tiny but notable design change

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is set to launch in January 2026; meanwhile, the Ultra variant of the lineup is now anticipated to be available in ‘Black’ color with a small but notable tweak.

After numerous leaks and reports regarding the Galaxy S26 series, it has now been confirmed that the lineup will include three models, as mentioned below –

The Standard and Plus variant is reported to be powered by the in-house Exynos 2600 chipset, while the Ultra variant will be equipped Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally.

Now, a reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a post via its X handle, claiming that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Black color model will feature a matching Black frame. However, it’s not a major tweak, but it seems a notable departure from current Ultra models, which feature darker back panels with a lighter silver-toned frame.

This change will efficiently make the bezels appear wider, since the border around the screen visually blends with the frame. The tipster hasn’t mentioned whether the company is considering extending this frame-matching approach to other color variants of the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Since Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding this frame-matching approach, it remains to be seen whether the leaked report will come true. In case it happens, then for the Black variant, the darker frame might actually make the bezels look slightly thicker than they are.
