Samsung leads the South American smartphone market in Q3 2025

Samsung maintained its leading legacy in the South American smartphone market during the third quarter of this year, with 33% market share.

Transparently, Samsung is one of the leading brands in the smartphone market, and to maintain its top position, it has always been quite active in introducing more innovative products. Currently, it is looking forward to launching its next flagship Galaxy S26 models next month at the Galaxy Unpacked event.

A new report (via) from Omdia revealed that Samsung secured the first position in the South American smartphone market during Q3 2025. The overall smartphone shipment in South America reached 35.2 million units, which is a slight year-on-year increase and the highest level since Q4 2015. According to the metrics shared by Omdia, Samsung shipped 11.6 million units, which helps it earn 33% of the market share.

One of the notable facts is that 68% of its shipments during Q3 2025 belong to the affordable Galaxy A-series smartphones. This suggests that its strategy of shifting the focus to the budget-friendly segment continues to pay off.

While Xiaomi is in second position with 6.3 million shipments, that counts a 18% market share. Motorola should revise its strategy as it is in third position and continues its decline of 11% year-on-year, marking its sixth consecutive quarter of decline.
