One UI 8.5 Beta 2 is set to revert camera features that were removed earlier

On December 8, Samsung kicked off its highly-awaited One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series, which is available for users in four out of six beta-eligible countries, including South Korea, Germany, the US, and the UK. Despite bringing up an exciting changelog, the beta 1 removed two camera modes that will be making their way back through beta 2.

Well, with the distribution of the One UI 8.5 beta, a previous report revealed that the build apparently removed two of the most significant camera features, namely, Dual Recording and Single Take, creating frustration among fans.

Meanwhile, there’s some good news for the Galaxy community, as Samsung’s officials via the official community forum have shared some information regarding the same. The moderators revealed that the camera test that is being performed in the latest One UI 8.5 beta, removing two camera modes: the Single Take and Dual Recording, will be provided back via the Camera Assistant app.

The officials further stated that Samsung is preparing to release a new update for the Camera Assistant app alongside the One UI 8.5 beta 2, which means that the two camera features, Dual Recording and Single Take, will be provided back with the upcoming One UI 8.5 beta 2.

Nevertheless, according to the leaked timeline, the One UI 8.5 beta 2 is expected to be released on December 22nd; however, it remains to be seen whether Samsung wants to go with the leak or will take a little longer to drop the second One UI 8.5 beta.
