Samsung’s February Security Update Targets 37 Vulnerabilities Across Galaxy Devices

Samsung just confirmed its February 2026 security patch is ready to deploy, addressing weaknesses that span both Android’s core and the company’s own software layers.

The update bundles 37 fixes. Google contributes 25 of them for Android, while Samsung tackled 12 issues tied directly to One UI components. Most patches apply to devices running Android 14, 15, and 16, though one fix reaches back to Android 13.

What stands out is where Samsung focused its efforts. The company patched holes in Emergency Sharing, Knox Guard Manager, and the default Dialer app. More critically, it addressed flaws in biometric authentication, specifically facial recognition and fingerprint scanning. These aren’t cosmetic tweaks. Authentication vulnerabilities can expose lock screen bypasses or unauthorized access, which makes them priority fixes.

The Settings app and Samsung’s PACM module also received attention, rounding out a mix that touches both user-facing features and backend security infrastructure.

Samsung hasn’t announced exact rollout dates, but history suggests the patch will begin appearing on flagship devices first, likely within days. Mid-range and budget models typically follow over the next few weeks.

For users, the takeaway is simple: install it when it arrives. Security patches don’t generate headlines, but they close gaps that attackers actively scan for. February’s update is routine maintenance that matters more than most software updates you’ll see this month.

If your Galaxy device is eligible, the patch should appear in Settings under Software Update soon.
