Galaxy Wearable Update Adds New UI, Drops Old Galaxy Fit

Samsung is laying the groundwork ahead of Unpacked 2026, and the latest Galaxy Wearable app update is one of the clearest signals yet that the company is fully pivoting toward its next product generation.
The update, currently rolling out in South Korea, brings a visual refresh aligned with the One UI 8.5 aesthetic expected to ship with the Galaxy S26 series. More practically, it adds support for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro ahead of their official reveal at next week’s Unpacked event. Security improvements tied to Smart Switch are also part of the package.
So far, straightforward. But buried in the changelog is something worth flagging before you tap that update button.
Samsung Ends Support for Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e
Both devices, launched in 2019, are no longer supported by the updated app. Install the new version, and the app simply stops working with those wearables. No warning dialogue, no graceful transition.
Six years is a long run for budget fitness trackers, and Samsung has every technical reason to move on. The lineup has matured significantly since then, with the Galaxy Fit 3 offering a proper smartwatch-style display and a richer feature set. Legacy support has to end somewhere.
Still, for users who kept those 2019 bands precisely because nothing in the current lineup matched them on price and simplicity, this update effectively pulls the plug on official functionality. If that sounds like your situation, hold off on updating until you’re ready to replace the hardware.
For everyone else, the update is worth taking once it reaches your region. The One UI 8.5 styling is cleaner, and the Buds 4 support arrives right on time.
