Why Rockstar Chose Netflix for the Reveal

Pairing a game trailer with a streaming service is an unusual move, and it’s not lost on the industry that Netflix rarely serves as anyone’s go-to destination for video game marketing. The partnership suggests Rockstar and parent company Take-Two want a splashier venue than YouTube alone can offer, especially with pre-orders for GTA VI already live since late June.

It’s also a signal that the marketing campaign fans were promised for “summer” is finally kicking into gear.
