Samsung has started pushing a new firmware for Samsung’s mid ranger the Galaxy A42 and the Galaxy A51 smartphone users in the United States.
Samsung Galaxy A42 is receiving the October 2022 security patch on Verizon locked and the Galaxy A51 unlocked users also receiving the same update. The firmware in distribution is the A426USQS4CVI2, and A515U1UES8DVI1 respectively and does not seem to bring with it any feature innovations.
The October 2022 security patches fix 32 vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and 18 specific to Samsung’s One UI, including some that allowed unauthorized access to the phone’s serial number, secure memory, call information, and more.
How To Check:
To update the Samsung Galaxy A42 and A51 to the latest security patches via OTA you can go within the system settings, following the path ‘Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install’.
