Earlier this year, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8Gen 2 chipset for high-end devices; several popular Chinese brands like Xiaomi and One Plus have installed this chipset in tier latest devices. Samsung has also used the same chipset with a higher-clocked version. The company has only used this chipset in the Galaxy S23 devices.
Now moving on, according to some reports, Qualcomm is working on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2. According to the tipster DCS, it will be the overclocked version of the SnapDragon 8 Gen 2, but aan another tipster claimed that it would be launched with a different name. Further, he added that it would be manufactured on TSMC 4nm manufacturing process.
The tipster, DSC, also predicted that Despite having top-notch performance, it will not be a feature in many smartphones because it will be too expensive. According to the Tipster Why LAB, the new chip will generate 3.36GHz, which will be the same as the processor that was available for the Galaxy S23 series.
As we covered earlier, Samsung will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy for the upcoming Foldable smartphones, i.e., Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. It was also reported that these devices had permed well in the Geekbench test. Having the same SoC, the foldable device has beaten the Galaxy S23 devices in the single-core test.
