Samsung One UI 5.1.1 brings crucial improvement for large screen devices

Samsung has unveiled its latest One UI 5.1.1 skin with several improvements and new features. However, the new skin is limited to some devices which are equipped with big screens.

It is also worth noticing that the One UI 5.1.1 will be available in the newly launched devices, including Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series devices. We are expected to see the stable version of the latest One UI in all the devices out of the box.

The company has only rolled out the beta update for the Galaxy devices. As per the changelog, the update has several enhancements to different features, including Multitasking, Taskbar, Flex Mode to Quick Share, Camera and Gallery, and Samsung Health. One UI 5.1.1 Complete new features and improvement

Multitasking

Improved app preview on the Recent Apps screen

  • You can preview the running status of an app, such as split screen, full screen, or pop-up, on the Recent Apps screen

Direct switch from pop-up screen to split screen

  • You can easily switch to the split screen by holding down the handle at the top of the pop-up window and dragging it to the desired side.

Move the pop-up to the side and turn it back on easily

  • Move the pop-up screen to the side for a while and bring it back easily when you need it. You can drag the pop-up screen sideways to move it out of view, then tap it again to return it to its original location.

Control minimized apps with the S Pen

  • When you move the S Pen to the icon of a minimized app, a preview appears so you can see how the app will look when it starts up.

Taskbar

Show the latest apps on the taskbar

  • You can view up to 4 recently used apps on the taskbar.

Adjust the taskbar area according to the number of icons

  • If you see 7 or fewer icons on the taskbar, the taskbar area is automatically adjusted to make it easier to select the Home button, recent apps button, and the Back button at the bottom of the screen.

Flex mode

  • You can now use Flex Mode Panel in a variety of apps that support multi-window screens. Activate the Flex Mode panel option, fold your phone, and press the button that appears on the navigation bar.

Simplify media control

  • In the flexible mode panel, you’ll see buttons to jump forward or backward 10 seconds, and, by pressing the time bar, the point where you’re holding it will be timed to take you exactly where you want.

Customize the toolbar

  • Customize the Flex Mode panel toolbar as you like and easily perform various functions such as split screen display and screen capture. You can add, remove, reorder, or move an icon by pressing it for a long time.

Quick sharing

Share with contacts, even the distant ones

  • You can always share files with your contacts, even if the person you want to share them with is not nearby.

Share important content more securely

  • Protect shared content more securely. You can set an expiration date on a shared file or cancel the share whenever you want. You can also prevent others from saving or sharing files.

Improving the content and design of sleep coaching

  • We’ve improved the content and design of sleep coaching so you can see your progress at a glance and improve your sleep habits more easily. (Galaxy Watch4 or higher)

Make your sleep data more meaningful

  • We’ve improved the screen design and added explanations to make it easier to see and better understand the various sleep score factors. (Galaxy Watch4 or later)

Measurement of skin temperature during sleep

  • Create a more comfortable sleeping environment by measuring how your skin’s temperature changes during sleep. (Galaxy Watch5 or higher)

Key training metrics at once

  • The summary information screen has been improved so you can check the main training data right after the end of the exercise right away.
  • New badges, congratulatory messages, various records, and more. Stay motivated and manage your precious health more consistently with improved Samsung Health.

Camera and Gallery

  • You can change the date and time notation of the watermark to suit your style.

Improved Flex mode design in Pro mode

  • To make shooting the way you want, manual setting options such as ISO and shutter speed appear throughout the bottom of the screen when your phone is closed in Pro and Pro Video modes.

Select multiple photos at the same time in the capture view

  • When using the capture view on the home screen, you can select multiple photos by holding them down for a long time. Easily select multiple photos and share or delete them all at once.

More cost-effective remaster preview

  • Thumbnails are displayed below the image that is remastered, and by clicking on the thumbnail, you can compare the remastered version and the original side by side on a larger screen.

Apply effects with ease

  • The sliders have been replaced with dials, which allow you to precisely adjust the filters and tonal effects with one hand in the gallery.

  • If you open the phone with the main screen facing down, you can charge your Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and other wireless battery-sharing devices on the other screen while you continue to use the phone on the cover screen.

Efficient archiving management

  • When the remaining built-in storage is less than 5GB or 10%, My Files displays the app cache information. Easily free up space without having to delete apps or files.

Improvements to the memory management feature of Device Care

  • Provides more detailed information about apps that use your phone’s memory and allows you to easily put apps that use too much memory into hibernation.
  • Change the mode directly from the lock screen to the desired mode, such as sleep mode or driving mode.

New Galaxy Phone In Existence: Samsung Galaxy M35 5G Spots On Geekbench

The Korean brand – Samsung has recently announced its two mid-range Galaxy smartphones – Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G. A new benchmark listing has a spot for Samsung’s affordable smartphone, Galaxy35 5G.  

Samsung is now gearing up for its next affordable Galaxy smartphone, the M35 5G, as the  reports are unvunveilhey have found a new benchmark listing for Samsung the Galaxy M35 5G. 

The smartphone has been spotted with the model number as an identification code – SM-M356B on the Geekbench 6.2.2 database. Not only this, but it also confirmed the presence of 6GB of RAM and Android 14 OS. The chipset also came to know which is the latest Exynos 1380. 

The codename for the motherboard is also mentioned, which is ‘s5e8835.’ The reports say that it has scored 656 and 1967 points in performance scores on the benchmarking platform. Exynos 1380 is the latest chipset of the Korean brand, which is a 5 nm processor. It consists of 4 Cortex A78 cores, which clock at 2.4GHz, and 4 Cortex A55 cores, which clock at 2.0GHz. It is coupled with a Mali g68 MP5 GPU. It also has an AI Engine. 

This also offers connectivity options, which include the latest Bluetooth version 5.3 and Wi-Fi 802.11 ax with three bands. It supports a camera resolution of at least 200MP for capturing images, and for video recording, there is support for up to 30fps 4K recording. The storage supported is UFS v3.1, and RAM will be of the LPDDR4x/5 type. 

Samsung has recently debuted its two smartphones, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A35; the Galaxy A35 5G smartphone is powered by Exynos 1380 chipset. From this perspective, Galaxy M35 5G could be a variant of Galaxy A35. 

At the moment, no specs and features of the device have been revealed or leaked. Still, since Galaxy M series smartphones usually have a bit higher battery power of at least 6000mAh, the forthcoming Galaxy M35 5G smartphone also arrives with the same battery power.

Verizon rolls out the March 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices

Verizon has rolled out the March 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices. Earlier, these devices had received the same update outside the US, but now they are gradually expanding to the US.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are spotted getting new updates with the firmware version numbers F926USQS5HXBD and F711USQS6HXBD, respectively. It is worth noticing the update is currently available for the devices locked to Verizon, but it will soon be available on more carriers. 

For your information, the latest update for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 doesn’t bring any significant changes, but as it is the latest security patch, it will provide some internal fixes to maintain the security of the devices.

If you are getting some other issues from the last update, you should also update the device to the latest update, as it may also address some issues. Along with the update, other improvements may also be made to enhance the overall performance of the devices.

Suppose you use the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Flip 3 device in the US. In that case, you can update the device to the latest version by simply going to the system settings and then to the software update. Samsung rolls out the March 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy S23 FE devices in the US

Samsung has rolled out the March 2024 security patch to almost all devices but still needs to complete the update distribution to all eligible devices. So, gradually expanding the update to remaining devices, the company has started rolling out the update for the Galaxy S23 FE in the US.

Notably, the Galaxy S23 FE devices are getting a new update in the carrier-unlocked version with the firmware version number S711U1UES2BXBF. The update has already been rolled out to almost all carriers, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, C-Spire, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, DISH, MetroPCS, T-Mobile, Tracfone, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.

According to the official changelog, the March 2024 security patch is one of the standard maintenance updates that provides some internal improvements for the device, and there will be no visible changes available. In other words, users may experience some improvement in the functioning of devices, but it doesn’t particularly bring any specific changes for the device.

Going to the details, the March 2024 security patch includes more than 40 fixes, 37 of which are provided by Google and address the issues found in the Android OS, while 9 more features are introduced by Samsung that enhance the performance of Galaxy devices exclusively.

In that case, you can update the devices to the latest version by following the simple steps: first, go to the system settings, tap on the software update, and tap on the download and install button; if it shows a new update available, tap on the download button.
