Carrier-locked Galaxy S21 FE receives August 2023 security update in the US

The August 2023 update is the latest security patch for Galaxy devices. The updates don’t bring any new features to the devices; they generally refresh the security mechanisms of the devices. This is a general update that is frequently available for Galaxy devices. Now, continuing it, Samsung has rolled out the same update for the Galaxy S21 FE 5G devices.
Notably, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G is getting a new update in the US. Currently, the update is rolling out for the carrier-locked variants of the devices with firmware version number G990USQS8EWG3. The update is now available on two carriers, including Verizon and US Cellular.
According to the information, the latest patch includes over 85 fixes that improve the overall security and performance of the devices. The device may also get some stability improvements, so it will also get functionality enhancements.
It is worth noticing that the Galaxy S21FE 5G is listed under the monthly security update category, which means it will grab at least one update per month. In addition, the Galaxy S21 series devices are also listed in the same category, and it is expected that they will also get the update in the coming weeks.
The Galaxy S21 FE is the lite version of the Galaxy S21. The device was launched in 2022 and comes with Android 12. Later, the device received a major update to One UI 5, which was based on Android 13. The device is promised to get at least four major updates, so it will get Android updates up to Android 16.
