Samsung is preparing to bring back its Exynos chipset after a long gap—a year—and equipped the Galaxy S23 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which received great response. The next lineup of the Galaxy S series is anticipated to come with many enhanced features. A Chinese news blog, Antutu, revealed that a ten-core architecture with 1+2+3+4 cores will be used by the upcoming Exynos 2400, constructed with Samsung Foundry’s 4nm fabrication technique. There are four ARMv9 Cortex-A520 cores running at 1.8 GHz, two ARMv9 Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.9 GHz, three ARMv9 Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.6 GHz, and one ARMv9 Coretx-X4 core running at 3.1 GHz.

The Exynos 2400 will only support 64-bit, a significant change as a result of switching to the newest Armv9.2 core. The Xclipse 940, which has twice as many graphics compute units as RDNA 2, compared to the Xclipse 920, will be included in the Exynos 2400’s graphics configuration, and it will work in conjunction with the 10-core CPU. Further, the Exynos 2400 will support LPDDR5X memory with speeds up to 8.5 GB/s and UFS 4.0 storage. The image signal processor offers 8K 60 fps video recording and 320 million pixel images.

The Exynos 2400 has an Exynos 5300 modem for connectivity, which supports the most recent 3GPP 5G Version 18 network and can reach downlink and uplink speeds of up to 10 Gbps and 3.87 Gbps, respectively. Applications in the field of AI will be improved much further with the Exynos 2400. Two-way satellite communication is a new capability added to Exynos 2400, which means future Galaxy S24 series users can ask for assistance to get out of sticky circumstances, something that is similar to Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite.

Instead of the three workgroup processors (WGPs) in the Exynos 2200, it most likely indicates that the Exynos 2400 contains six WGPs. It is compatible with mmWave and sub-6 GHz networks and supports NSA and SA 5G networks. BDSm Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E/Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFS, and USB 3.2 Type-C are other connection features that are expected to equip the Exynos 2400. The Galaxy S24 series’ Exynos 2400 variant will be launched in the regions of Africa, Europe, and Asian countries, whereas the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Galaxy S24 series may arrive in China, South Korea, and the United States.
