Samsung and NEXON Unviles ‘The First Descendant’ as World’s First HDR10+ Game

The first video game to use HDR10+ gaming technology will be released, according to an announcement on Monday from Samsung Electronics and Nexon Co., a local game developer. The First Descendant, a new game from Nexon Co. and Samsung’s gaming monitor Odyssey, will be presented at Gamescom 2023, the biggest gaming convention in Europe, which will take place in the Cologne region of Germany. Gamers from all over the world will be able to try out the more realistic HDR gameplay as the open beta test of “The First Descendant” begins on September 19.
By working with Nexon, Samsung is able to further demonstrate its dedication to offering top-notch visual experiences that go beyond media consumption and enjoyment. The HDR10+ gaming standard isn’t something new to Samsung, as its most recent models of gaming monitors and TVs show, and this tech plays an important role in the brand’s position as the market leader in this field. The business has paved the way for HDR technology by helping to form HDR10+ Technologies and nurturing an ecosystem that today has 155 partners.
A specialized picture-enhancing method made specifically for gaming is called HDR10+ Gaming Technology. It evaluates the scenes and frames contained in game material, enhancing the visual complexity of games. The adorable refresh rate, which enables computer displays to instantly modify their refresh rate to match the refresh rate being delivered by the computer’s GPU, is a characteristic of the technology. Faster response times and smooth transitions into HDR mode are among the innovation’s practical advantages.
Seokwoo Jason Yong, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, We’re thrilled to join forces with Nexon, a true pioneer in video games, to introduce the world’s first HDR10+ gaming title, ‘The First Descendant’. This is a gaming milestone that goes beyond mere technological advancement; it represents Samsung’s continued commitment to enhance the gaming experience as technology evolves.”
