Samsung is reportedly testing batteries for the upcoming Galaxy foldable device, i.e., Galaxy Z Flip 6. The capacity of batteries is much bigger than its predecessor. If this happens, this will be a significant improvement for the Galaxy fans who love foldable smartphones because previously, the devices were reportedly far behind in giving proper backup.
Galaxy Z Flip 6 could be equipped with powerful batteries
As you know, the Galaxy Z Flip always comes with two battery setups; for instance, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 was equipped with two batteries with a capacity of 971 mAh and 2620 mAh. The phone is advertised to have a battery backup of 3700 mAh.
Now, some reports claim that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphone with increased battery capacity, which includes a battery of 1097 mAh and another 2790 mAh. Together, they will make a capacity of 3887 mAh. If we take the reference, it is similar to the latest Galaxy flagship Galaxy S24 device capacity, which is advertised to have a 4000mAh capacity.
It is obvious that when the battery capacity is increased, the phone may also get heavier compared to its predecessor. The company is also working on the camera modules for the foldable devices, so due to this innovation, they may also get some price increments. Samsung will take this more carefully because the devices are already at higher prices, so it is worth waiting for what significant improvements will be available with the upcoming foldable.
As far as the availability of the phone is concerned, it is expected to be available in the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which could be organized later this year. It is safe to say that the phone could be at least six months away from its release.
