Android 15
Android 15 may make using smartphones easier for those with less experience
Recently, Google released the first beta of Android 14 QPR3, which will be the third quarterly platform release of Android 14 when it becomes stable in June. This beta version has arrived with a new feature named “easy pre-set.”
The reports reveal a hidden settings page for a new feature known as Easy. However, this feature is not appearing as another since it is housed in the hidden settings page.
If the reports are to be believed, the easy pre-set mode optimizes the Android UI for “improved readability and ease of navigation.” It particularly helps in enlarging icons and text, adding contrast and boldness, and adding navigation buttons to the bottom of the screen.
At the moment, enabling the new mode just does not seem possible. Google added a feature such as stock Android, which seems quite convenient. Many other OEMs offer a feature just like this, and there are even third-party launcher applications on Google Play that are basically designed for use by the elderly.
However, this feature is available in the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1 release, but it does not appear that Google is planning to release this feature with the stable Android 14 QPR3 update in June. Google is expected to release this feature with Android 15 by the end of 2024.
And also, the existence of this feature in the QPR3 beta is simply because Google is simultaneously working on the QPR and Android 15 releases. Actually, at the time, nothing is officially revealed yet, but once Google releases the Android 15 developer preview, things regarding this feature will get quite clear.
