Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S20 FE get February 2024 security patch to Europe

Samsung is gradually distributing the February update from region to region; therefore, it is taking time to expand the update to the eligible units of the remaining smartphones. The same is happening now with the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S20 FE devices. These devices have already grabbed the Februany update in the US and Brazil, respectively, and now they have started getting it in Europe.
It is worth noticing that there are two models of the Galaxy S21 FE: the SM-G990B2 model is getting the update with the version number G990B2XXS5FXA7, while the other model, the SM-G990B, is getting the update with the firmware version number G990BXXS6FXA7. At the same time, users who own the Galaxy S20 FE can identify the latest update by the firmware version number, G781BXXS9HXA6.
The latest update for the devices is coming with the February 2024 security patch, which will not bring any new features for the devices but will provide some significant improvements for their security. Along with this, the update sometimes also brings some innovations under the hood that ultimately improve the performance and stability of the devices.
Going to some general details, Samsung has introduced the February 2024 security update packed with more than 60 patches. From them, there are 61 patches added by Google that fix issues related to the Android OS, while other remaining patches are introduced by Samsung that specifically fix issues addressed in Galaxy devices.
If you are using the Galaxy S21 FE or Galaxy S20 FE devices in Europe, then you should start receiving the notification about the availability of the update, but if you haven’t received it yet, you can also check the update manually by going to the system settings.
