Google has already reached far away from the initial stage of Android 15, and it seems close to its stable rollout. It is expected that this time it will introduce a system-wide feature just for managing application storage.

Since Android 15 is the upcoming major OS update for Android smartphones, it should bring brand new features and facilities, improvements, and changes for upgrading the users’ experience as per their convenience. The reports are saying that to fulfill the lack of previous OS updates, Android 15 is expected to bring a system-wide feature for managing app storage.

A system-wide feature for managing app storage is similar to a feature that is already available on the Play Store for a few apps. However, if this report comes true, then this will be a great improvement since it will be coupled directly into Android settings, so the users will no longer need to go through the Play Store, and this will also help for applications downloaded from outside the Play Store.

It is expected that the application will include a slimmed-down version of itself containing the icon as well as a download link. While choosing to “store” an app, this stripped-down version rests, freeing up space while keeping their data complete. Then it will allow you to easily restore the full application through the download link. This could be beneficial in the scenario where you want to restore the app after archiving it.

A video on YouTube by a well-known tipster, Mishaal Rahman, has already showcased how to authorize the function for storing the application in Android 15. The video just showcases how it will work directly from the page dedicated to the application in the Android settings, where there will be an archive button. The tipster also gives an example of the Uber app in the video, which in its classic form takes up 387 MB, whereas in its archived form, it takes just 17.6 MB; it’s a 95% deduction; restoring the archived app will be possible from the Android settings; and it takes a few seconds for the application to be downloaded and installed again in its original form.
