Samsung frequently brings new features and innovation to its devices through new One UI updates. The Korean giant shows most of the features with the dedicated changelog, but at the same time, there are some features that have been secretly added to the existing functions. Here we will talk about one of them, which is hidden under the stock My Files app.

According to the information, Samsung has introduced a new feature under My Files that allows users to permanently delete files. However, the option is hidden under the setting of My Files. Let’s learn how you can use the option.

How to turn on the permanent delete file option

To enable the permanent file delete option, follow the below steps:

  1. First, you have to check whether your My Files are up-to-date or not. It should be in the version number 15.0.04.5.
  2. Now open “My Files” and go to the settings.
  3. Here you will see the option My Files. Tap on it multiple times until a dialog box appears and says, “My Files Labs has been enabled.”
  4. Once enabled, you enter the My Files lab menu and enable the permanently delete option.

Once the option is enabled, you will get an extra option when deleting to permanently delete the file once you tap it, and then your files will permanently vanish from your device without returning to the recycle bin. It is worth noticing that these options are only available with the latest version, 15.0.04.5. To update the application, you can check the update from the Galaxy Store, or you can also check the update from some other unofficial sources.
