Samsung Prepares Update to Resolve LockStar Icon Design Issues for AOD

Published

on

Samsung found a new bug and is now ready to release a fix soon for LockStar’s icon design issue for AOD. The LockStar app helps to customize lock screens and the always-on display of Galaxy devices, as it offers many customization options and features as compared to those built into Samsung phones.

For a couple of days, users have been facing trouble while using the LockStar app, but now it appears that Samsung is all set to fix a bug. This bug occurs while customizing the look of the AOD display in LockStar. The application displays icons in the preview in one different theme and the resulting icon on the actual AOD in a different theme, which pissed off users since on the actual AOD, the icons have a different design against their choice, which makes it look messy.

Regarding this issue, a user complained on Samsung’s Community Forum for Korea, and a moderator on behalf of the brand replied that the brand is aware of this issue and is actively looking into it to fix it soon with the future update of the app. However, the exact timeline is not clear yet, since in the reply, the moderator didn’t mention it.

On the other side, some of the users are also facing the brightness of AoD, which decreased drastically after installing the latest One UI 6.1 update. Now it is expected that the giants will immediately acknowledge the issue and fix it with an update to LockStar. Although it is not clear yet when the new update will arrive with the fix, it seems to arrive soon.

Samsung Hints Popup-Minimizing Feature in One Hand Operation+

Published

By

Samsung One Hand Operation+ provides unique functionality to Galaxy users; they can complete various tasks with only one hand. To make it possible, the company has optimized its software to support almost all the applications that are open in the popup view. Now,  for more convenience, some users are demanding a new feature to minimize them.

According to a user, if the company provides the minimize button for the popup window, it will give them the them the convenience to manage them and give them the power to individually remove them from the screen and open them quickly.

As of now, when you want to remove the popup window from the screen, you tap on the home button, but it closes all the windows, including the active one, which ruins the experience of multitasking.

Now, after taking it as a request, the community moderator has said that the request to minimize the feature will be taken into consideration and may be provided with the next update, but he hasn’t confirmed that the feature will come in the next update.

For more clarification, you can check the official statement: “We will review the requested pop-up view minimization feature and, if possible, add it in the next update. Please understand that we cannot give a definitive answer as to whether or not features will be added.”

If you also use the popup window functionality on your devices, then you may also need the minimize option to properly control it, and then keep the One Hand Operation+ plugin up to date. May it provide the desired feature in the next update?

ByteDance wants to kick off TikTok in the US market rather than selling it to an American firm

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, would have to shut down TikTok in the US market rather than sell it to an American firm. Following many assertions and statements for years, finally, it appears that ByteDance wants to ditch TikTok from the US market. Menahile, earlier reports significantly suggested that eventually TikTok will get banned in the US and was officially approved by the US House, Senate, and President of the US, Biden.

According to a source shared by Reuters via Android Police, ByteDance, which is the parent company of TikTok, seems looking up to ditching TikTok in the US completely rather than selling it to an American firm, while after the official approval, ByteDance was given the last 270-day deadline that either the company needs to release TikTok from its ownership forever or completely stop TikTok in the US market.

ByteDance counts a small part of TikTok’s revenue, though:

Meanwhile, the company is currently eyeing over some other legal options, but if all the legal options proved unsuccessful, then it’s quite clear that TikTok would be leaving the US market forever. On the flip side, some sources also reveal that the highly engaging properties of TikTok are due to its core algorithms, while these core algorithms are the most essential section of ByteDance’s technology. Moreover, this ditching of TikTok in the US will not really impact ByteDance’s current operations in the US market, as the company accounts for a small part of revenue through the app.

Sources further added that last year, TikTok gained about 25% of its revenue from the US market, which significantly means that it could be a sudden decrement within the revenue stream. However, ByteDance’s dedicated app, Douyin, which is certainly a Chinese version of TikTok, Also, no American firm is willing to pay billions to acquire TikTok without its core algorithms. Meanwhile, all these factors significantly indicate that if the legal efforts proved to be a failure, TikTok would have to leave the US market for sure.
