Samsung has introduced several new features with the One UI 6.1 software update, which are obviously spotted on the Galaxy S24 series. The company has brought innovation to bring more convenience for the users. Here is one more improvement seen in the widget appearance.

Several widgets can be added to the lock screen and AOD

Previously, in the One UI 5.0 update, Samsung brought several new features for customizing the lock screen, including clock style, adding text and shortcuts, etc., but at that time, it still lacked the ability to add the widgets that were already available on iPhones with iOS 16. But now, moving forward, the Korean giant has also released the capability for Galaxy S24 series devices.

How do I enable Lock Screen & AOD widgets?

To take advantage of the widgets on the lock screen, you just need to follow these simple steps: First, open the settings, then select the lock screen and AOD menu, then turn on the toggle. Once done, go to the lock screen and tap and hold the lock screen. After some time, it will give you the add widget option immediately below the clock. When you tap on the widget option, you will get a list of widgets, including battery, calendar, clock, reminder, Samsung Health, and weather. It is worth noticing that when you add the widgets to the lock screen, they will automatically appear on the AOD screen.

Will this feature be available on other Galaxy devices as well?

The Galaxy S24 has One UI 6.1 preinstalled, so it is difficult to say whether this feature will be exclusive to the flagships or will be available for all the devices that are eligible to get One UI 6.1. However, the feature is not directly linked to any particular hardware, so there are high chances that Samsung could expand the update to more Galaxy devices.
