Samsung has published the latest March 2024 security patch update bulletin, where it shares all the details about the latest update, which will be distributed to all the eligible devices this month. Here we have also noticed that the company has removed three devices from the list to get the security patch update eligibility; this includes the Galaxy S10 Lite, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy A71, and the Galaxy A02.

End of Software Updates for Select Samsung Galaxy Devices

Samsung has strictly followed its policy of software updates, which it decided at the time of launching the devices. The Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite were launched back in 2020, and the company has kept them in four years of software update support.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A02 was launched back in 2021 and was eligible for three years of updates, including two major updates. The Galaxy A71 LTE was launched back in 2019, and it came with Android 10 preinstalled. The device is also eligible to get four years of software updates with three major Android upgrades that have already arrived for the device.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite were eligible to get three major updates, which were already received by all three devices, and now they are no longer eligible to get any updates in the future. If you want to get the official list of devices, then check out this article.

If we talk about the last update that arrived on these devices, the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A02 have received the September 2023 security patch, while the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite have received the February 2024 security patch update. All three devices have received the major update of Android 11.

If you are also using this device, then you can still use it for the next four months without worrying much about security, but if you want to enjoy the new One UI feature, then you have no other option but to switch to the new device. If you want to switch to a flagship device, then you can check out the Galaxy S24 device, or if you want a midrange smartphone, then you can wait for the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55.

Earlier this month, Samsung officially announced that it will provide one UI 6.1 update to the 2022 flagship device in May. But now the company has surprisingly started rolling out the update to one of the midrange Galaxy A23 devices.

The Verizon network has spotted the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A23, with the firmware version number A236VSQU3CXD3. It has also brought the latest security update in the form of an April 2024 security patch. With the latest update, there are several new features introduced that will add some new features and enhancements.

In detail, the latest update for the Galaxy A23 5G introduces a new battery protection feature that allows users to manage the application’s battery charging to prevent battery damage. There are some new changes in the clock customization, gallery, and Samsung account sections. It is important to note that there is no AI feature arriving in this update.

The update will also enable call continuity, mid-conversation device switching, and seamless communication across any device, such as a Galaxy table, computer, or watch, all connected to the same Samsung account. A small but important addition is a new toggle in the mobile network that allows users to turn off 5G if they don’t need to connect to the update.

If you are using the locked version of the Galaxy A23 on the Verizon network, then you can now update it to the latest version simply by going to the system settings and tapping on the software update. If it shows a new update available, then tap on the download button.
