Samsung Galaxy A53 grabs One UI 6.1 update

Samsung is dropping back-to-back the One UI 6.1 update to eligible devices. Earlier, it had already rolled out the update to several Galaxy A series devices, including the Galaxy A54Galaxy A73, and Galaxy A15 5G. Now, a member in the form of the Galaxy A53 is joining the update.

One UI 6.1 for Galaxy A53 is spotted in some Asian countries

As of writing, the Galaxy A53 has been spotted getting the One UI 6.1 update in some Asian countries, including Indonesia and Singapore, and is expected to reach more countries in the next few days. 

The update has arrived in Asian countries with the firmware version number A536EXXU9EXDE. With the latest major update, users will not receive new security patches and will continue to use April 2024.

The One UI 6.1 update has brought several new features that will improve the overall existing features of the Galaxy devices. For instance, the One UI 6.1 update has introduced several new customization options under the different functions, including lock screens, alarms, calendars, reminders, reorder modes, a new routine, and many more. If you are using the Galaxy A53 device in the mentioned countries, then now you can update your Galaxy device to the latest version by going to the system settings, going to the software update menu, and installing the update. Samsung follows the tradition of providing details about the security patch on a monthly basis. As we enter July, the company has already published the office bulletin of the update, which has mentioned the changes that will arrive to the devices that are eligible to get the next security patch.

Samsung July 2024 security patch: what’s new? 

The July 2024 update is totally focused on the enactment of the security of the devices. According to the official documentation, there are more than 60 patches introduced. Google has brought 27 patches, but two of them do not apply to Galaxy devices. Here, 21 are marked as high-priority patches and 4 are critical patches.

In simple words, these patches will address the security vulnerability found at the Android OS level. Meanwhile, two more patches are introduced to fix the issue found in the Samsung semiconductor chip.  Along with this, Samsung has also introduced some exclusive patches for Galaxy devices; check them out below.

Samsung has introduced 33 patches for Galaxy devices

Galaxy S21, Note 20, S21 FE, S20 FE, Fold 3, and Flip 3 get June 2024 Update in Canada

Samsung has rolled out the June 2024 security patch to almost all the Galaxy devices available in different regions; however, several Canadian Galaxy smartphone users still haven’t received the update.

Now, the company has started rolling out the update for the nine devices, including the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S21 FEGalaxy S20 FEGalaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Firmware details for June 2024 Update

Users who own the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices in Canada can identify the latest update by these firmware version numbers: F926WVLS6IXF1 and F711WVLS7IXF1, respectively. 

The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra devices are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers G991WVLSBGXF1, G996WVLSBGXF1, and G998WVLSBGXF1, respectively. The Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S20 FE are getting a new update with the firmware version numbers G990WVLSBGXF1 and G998WVLSGXF1, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers N981WVLS7HXF1 and N986WVLS7HXF1, respectively.

The June 2024 security patch update for these devices doesn’t bring any significant changes to the device, but it will provide some new security enhancements that will improve the internal functioning of the device, enhance productivity, and make your device safer.

If you are using any of the above-mentioned devices in Canada, then you check for the latest update by following these simple steps: first, go to the system settings, then tap on the software update option. Here,  touch the download and install button, and it will start showing new updates available.

Galaxy A54 getting June 2024 security patch in Europe and South Korea

Samsung has rolled out the June 2024 security patch for most of the devices; however, due to the availability of a large number of eligible devices, the company is still gradually expanding the update to more countries. Like the Galaxy A54, it has already grabbed the latest security patch in the US, and now it is getting the update in Europe and South Korea.

Notably, the June update for the South Korean units of Galaxy A54 devices is carrying the firmware version number A546SKSS5CXF2. Meanwhile, in Europe, the device is getting a new update with the firmware version number A546BXXS8CXF1. The latest update for the Galaxy A54 is coming in a software package of 275 MB. It means you will not get any new features.

June 2024 is one of the normal security patch updates, which aims to enhance the working of the devices. According to the official documentation, the June 2024 update brings nearly 60 fixes, where Google has included 37 fixes and Samsung brings 22 patches that are exclusively available for Galaxy devices.

Along with this, the update may also bring some new enhancements to the working of the devices, which will improve the overall performance of the devices. If you are having any issues while using the device, the update may address the issue as well.
