New ‘Cinematic Moment’ Feature Coming to Google Photos

Google is building a new editing tool called Cinematic Moment for Google Photos to enhance users’ editing experience. Google Photos is a package of dozens of editing tools that analyzes and organizes images into groups, lets you search for photos by name or date, offers unlimited cloud-based backup storage, and more.
It is housed in most Android devices, making it readily available; it delivers an integrated archive and trash bin for easy photo management; and features such as Portrait Blur, Unblur, and Magic Eraser enhance even basic photos. A report has revealed that Google is working on a new feature named Cinematic Moment.
However, the forthcoming feature ‘Cinematic Moment’ sounds like an already existing ‘Cinematic Photos’ feature in Google Photo that uses depth data to create a short clip with a parallax effect, where the foreground appears to move slowly against the background. There’s one more feature named Cinematic Wallpapers available on Pixel phones that uses phone sensors to make a similar parallax effect on wallpapers, making them seem more 3D-like as you move the phone.
It’s expected that the upcoming Cinematic Moment builds upon these concepts to make slow-motion videos with a parallax effect. This upcoming app is being speculated by a tipster named AssembleDebug, who reported this to one of our colleagues. The code from Google Photos version 6.84.0.634885033 suggests a similar feature is in development. Tipster also reported that Google will automatically add a slow motion effect to a segment of the video.
