Galaxy S25 Ultra Could Feature Massive Camera Upgrade

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is the first in line to make its debut next year. Being a next-generation flagship device, it is expected to bring several upgrades, including a massive camera upgrade.

Even before any official statement or launch, leaks and rumors regarding the upcoming Galaxy S25 series are unconditionally blowing into the market. Now the new report suggests that Samsung is bringing a huge upgrade to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s cameras. This time, we could see a quad-camera arrangement on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

A well-reliable tip from Ice Universe suggests that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will still have a quad-camera setup, but it will upgrade two cameras with bigger and higher-resolution sensors. The tipster claimed on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a quad camera setup that includes a 200 MP primary camera, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50 MP super-telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

If this report comes true, then Samsung is upgrading all the rear-facing cameras on the Galaxy S25 Ultra to newer, higher-resolution sensors. In comparison, the recently launched Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 200 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera, a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50 MP super-telephoto camera sensor with 5x optical zoom. However, most of the other Android rivals have upgraded to using 50MP or higher-resolution sensors for rear-facing cameras on their flagship devices, while Samsung stuck to 10MP and 12MP sensors for telephoto and ultrawide cameras on its high-end Galaxy S series smartphones.

Apart from this, the leaks also suggest that Samsung might also use a newer 200MP camera sensor for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which might be closer to a 1-inch sensor in size. Meanwhile, the details regarding cameras on the vanilla Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ are still unclear. It could bring notable improvements, decent design changes, and One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.
