Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 series is a hot topic among fans since the back-to-back leaks reveal something different from the previous ones. A new report says Samsung would call its most premium smartwatch the Galaxy Watch X.
Previously, it was reported that Samsung was setting up for the next generation, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, which could compete with the Apple Watch Ultra series. At the next moment, the report claimed that the giant would call it the most premium smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch X. However, the leak appears wrong, and Samsung may use the Ultra branding for its upcoming premium smartwatch.
If the TDRA certification database (via MySmartPrice) is to be believed, Samsung will call the forthcoming premium smartwatch by the name Galaxy Watch Ultra, without the numerical number ‘7’. Somehow, these leaks are directly hinting that the Korean brand is dedicated to following Apple’s naming scheme for premium smartwatches.

The TDRA certification document showcases a model number for the Galaxy Watch Ultra: SM-L705F. This aligns with several previous reports, and it is increasingly visible that the Korean brand is looking forward to using the Ultra branding for its next-generation wearable. The device’s FCC certification reveals model numbers for the global variant SM-L705F and SM-L705U for the USA variant.
Although it features Wi-Fi b/g/n, which is quite disappointing since it doesn’t support a more modern Wi-Fi 5 standard, The FCC certification database reveals that the Galaxy Watch Ultra was tested with a wireless charger with model number EP-0L300. It was attached to a 10W (5V and 2A) power source. This seems lower than the wattage found for the Galaxy Watch 7’s 15W charger. Both smartwatches only support 10W wireless charging, but the giant used a 15W power brick with the vanilla Galaxy Watch 7.
The upcoming Galaxy smartwatch is expected to feature Samsung’s first 3nm chipset, and it is rumored to be named the Exynos W1000. It will also have 32GB of internal storage and a much bigger loudspeaker.
