Google Pixel Phones Say Goodbye to Samsung SoCs

Google is the parent company of the Android operating system, and it has introduced several improvements and changes on the software side, which are truly appreciable, but if we look at the hardware side, the company hasn’t done any innovation for it.

To manufacture its homemade Pixel lineup, the company has relied on different partners. Samsung was the crucial partner, which provides the chips for Google devices, but now, according to the information, the company is planning to join hands with its alternative, TSMC.

Google Pixel 10 is equipped with a 3nm processor

Before saying complete goodbye, Google will use the final Samsung-made chip for the upcoming Pixel 9 series, but then for the next Pixel series, i.e., the Pixel 10 series, the company will move to the TSMC’s fabricated processor.

According to the information retrieved from the Chinese publication CTEE, Google will use the first 3nm chip with Tensor G5 made from the TSMC. It is always worth noticing that the G5 is Google’s first chip designed completely in-house. While earlier, the SoC was made with a designed LSI arm.

Now it’s time for Samsung to take some tough steps as its chip assembly is continuously losing big partners; however, there is no proper reason disclosed why Google is moving away from Samsung. It is worth noticing that TSMC is considered a highly efficient manufacturing chip, therefore it is able to provide quality products with consistency.
