Samsung recommends using the original charger to prevent paint-peeling on Galaxy phones

Samsung Electronics released a statement saying that third-party fast chargers are not safe for Galaxy smartphones as they ruin the phone’s finish.

Currently, Samsung is actively working on several projects simultaneously; for instance, to debut next-generation Galaxy devices, forthcoming major software iterations, and many more. On the other side, a few reports are now blowing in on the Reddit platform, revealing that some users are experiencing paint issues on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, even after owning the phones for such a short time.

Although, regarding this issue, Samsung already has an official support page addressing this exact paint issue. The page directly blames the third-party chargers, and Samsung’s solution to prevent this problem is quite simple, just by using the company’s original chargers.

According to the official page, paint peeling is caused by improperly grounded third-party chargers, since while holding the phone that is being charged with a high-speed third-party charger that is not properly grounded, the leakage current can affect the anodization. This leads to a slight delamination of the paint. That’s why Samsung recommends using original chargers to prevent these issues.

The company does have a solution, according to which you should ensure that the charger that you are using is legitimate. However, it exactly does not mention any specific third-party chargers to use; it does suggest grabbing one from Samsung to make sure things will be good.
