Samsung is setting up to release its next-generation mid-range device named the Galaxy A16 5G in India. The device goes live on the support page.
Samsung will debut the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone as the successor of the Galaxy A15 5G in the Indian market. A couple of days ago, the design of the phone had already leaked.
Currently, the device spotted online on the Samsung India support page with the model number SM-A166P/DS hints at the near release. The last two letters ‘DS’ indicate dual SIM support. On the other side, the device is also spotted on the NBTC certification in Thailand and lists with the same model number, hinting at the possible debut in that country soon.
According to reports, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Exynos 1330 and MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipsets. It’s expected that the device will get 6 years of Android OS updates. Recent leaks have revealed that the device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED Infinity U display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and 800 nits of high brightness.
The storage package could include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It’s expected to run Android 14 out of the box. To add an extra layer of protection, the company will offer an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance and will feature a USB Type-C port.
The device could be available in three color variants: light green, blue black, and gold. However, Samsung has yet to reveal the official details of the device.
