One UI 7 NowBar: Samsung’s Answer to Apple’s Live Activities Feature
In the next fifteen days, Samsung is about to open the awaiting One UI 7 beta program for Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series. The update is expected to bring a new NowBar feature, similar to Apple’s Live Activities.
Samsung is gearing up to introduce a new feature with its coming major iteration of One UI 7 called NowBar, which is an answer to Apple iOS’s live activities. Previously, it was reported that Samsung was working on a feature that performs the same as live activities; however, the name wasn’t revealed. The name is yet to be official, as it could be an internal codename.
Finally, the feature’s name has come into existence as NowBar. A reliable tipster, chunvn8888, shared a post on X stating, “NowBar is the current name of the lock screen live activity feature.”
However, Samsung has yet to confirm the exact name of the feature since NowBar sounds awful. It might be possible that the company could change the name with the stable One UI 7 release. The NowBar feature will be integrated into the notification shade and lock screen, which will offer quick access to ongoing activities, such as calls, recordings, and timers.
The rumored NowBar feature is expected to result in a game-changer but only if it receives strong support from app developers. It remains to see whether Samsung will change the feature’s name with the One UI 7 release.
