Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite, While Exynos 2500 Remains in Testing
Samsung will power the entire Galaxy S25 series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Still, the company is testing the Galaxy S25+ with Exynos 2500.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025, which will come with Android 15 based on One UI 7. The company has not yet revealed anything official regarding the coming series, but leaks, rumors, and tipsters have already leaked almost all specs and designs of the series.
The Galaxy S25’s chipset is one of the most controversial topics in the market. Previous rumors nearly confirm the company’s decision to power the entire Galaxy S25 series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
A new report has once again stirred controversy about the Galaxy S25’s chipset, suggesting that the recently launched Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the entire series. However, the company is still using the Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy S25+ for testing purposes.
A leaker, Jukanlosreve, on X shared a post with a Geekbench page image, which showcased a European variant of the Galaxy S25+ with the Exynos 2500 chipset and the model number SM-S936B. The device uses the S5E9955 chip, which is the model number for the Exynos 2500 processor, and it has 12GB of RAM.
This prospect suggests that the company may introduce the Galaxy S25+, which is based on the Exynos 2500, in select regions, including Europe.
However, the same leaker shared a new text post stating that:
“Update: This was for testing purposes. All S25 models use the 8 Elite.”
This suggests that the Galaxy S25+ with Exynos 2500 is only for testing purposes, and the entire series will be based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite. We still have to wait and see if the Galaxy S25 series will use Snapdragon 8 Elite globally, or if it will use Exynos 2500 in specific regions.
