While Samsung continues with the November security patch for its Galaxy devices, the Galaxy S20 lineup is again getting the older October 2024 security update in November.

The 2nd October 2024 security update is now available for both the 4G and 5G units of Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra that can be identified with the G98**XXSMHXK1 firmware version.

Although the changelog of the update doesn’t mention any major difference, it does arrive with certain bug fixes and other relevant improvements that might be occurring in the previous update. It adds stability and reliability to the overall system to offer a more stable and reliable performance.

It further improves the overall security of the device to offer a secure experience to the users, all while keeping their device protected against external harms. The update also brings optimizations to the system performance, applies the latest security patches to fix all the security vulnerabilities, and offers improved features alongside providing a smooth, optimized, and efficient software experience.

Given the 2nd October security update for the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung might have addressed some issues within the previous update that’s going to be fixed in this one, as nothing could be clearly mentioned. In contrast, the update has already started rolling out in some European countries, while it will reach all the Galaxy S20 owners shortly.
