One UI 7 Makes Widgets Smarter and More Personalized

The Samsung ecosystem offers a connected user experience across its Galaxy devices, and with the One UI 7 launch, the company takes a step towards advanced mobile AI innovations and experience while also offering the biggest UI design overhaul. Among various visual and UI revamps, Samsung One UI 7 also introduces various redesigned widgets for Galaxy apps and services.
Widgets are miniature versions of apps on the Home Screen that offer quick and immediate access to the key information and functionality at a glance. While One UI 7 made some interesting tweaks to the functionality and design of the home screen, the newest version also packs some redesigned home screen widgets.
Alternatively, Samsung’s latest version is full of new and interesting surprises (you can know more with the entire changelog), and if your Samsung Galaxy device is eligible for the Android 15-based One UI 7 version, then you don’t have to wait for too long, as you can enroll in the beta program, which is currently live for the Galaxy S24 series in several selected countries in order to experience the new UI of Samsung’s stock widgets.

Samsung One UI 7 Widgets
- Camera widget
Along with redesigning the camera layout, One UI 7 also brings three custom camera widgets with a designated album for saving your precious moments in a specific one, reducing the hustle to find any particular picture.

- Battery widgets
Battery widgets now display the battery status of all your Galaxy devices and accessories in two different manners: Circle and List. Where the circular one comes with three different patterns that arrange tiles in 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 tiles, while on the opposite side, the list pattern comes with 2×2 and 4×2 tile arrangements.

- Clock widgets
The Clock Widgets come with three different tile patterns, including three tiles for alarm clocks, 2 analog clock tiles, 3 digital clock tiles, and 3 dual clock tiles.


- Calendar widgets
With One UI 7, the Calendar widget adds Countdown tiles with 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 arrangements. Month tiles with 2×2, 4×2, 4×2, and 4×5 arrangements, Today, tiles with 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 arrangements, and lastly, Upcoming Events tiles with 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 arrangements.

- Contacts widgets
The Contacts widgets arrange three different tile arrangements for Direct Dial with 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2.

- Digital Wellbeing widgets
The Digital Wellbeing widget comes with three tile arrangements for app timers with 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 ratios, while users can also apply a widget for their screen time that has the same 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 ratios.

- Device care widgets
The Device Care widgets offer device optimization where users can optimize their device’s memory just by tapping the widget. It has three different arrangements, including 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2.

- Gallery widgets-
For users who are interested in applying their photos or videos on their phone’s home screen, the Gallery widget is perfect for them. The users can apply their preferred images and stories on their home screen by choosing from the tile arrangements that include 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 ratios.

- Samsung Internet
Samsung Internet widgets carry bookmark tiles and search tiles. When you need to apply bookmarks in your Internet widget, you can select from 2×2 and 4×2 arrangements, while when you want to place a search widget, then you can choose from 2×2 and 4×1 ratios.

- Samsung Health widgets
The Samsung Health widgets come with a Daily activity tile, a Sleep tile that indicates your sleep timing, and a Steps tile that shows your steps count.

- Weather Widgets
The Samsung Weather widget has a Current Weather and Forecast tile with 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 ratios that allows you to know your area’s current weather and forecast, while there’s a Weather and Clock widget as well with the 2×2, 4×1, and 4×2 arrangements with which you can apply a widget that shows both weather and time on the home screen.

- Samsung SmartThings widgets
The Samsung SmartThings widget is tied up with four different arrangements of Routines, including 2×1, 2×2, 2×2, and 4×2, as you can see in the images. With this arrangement, you have the widget option to choose to apply either a single widget or a group of four.

- Voice Recorder widgets
With One UI 7, you can place the voice recorder widgets that are available in three different styles, including 2×1, 2×2, and 4×2 ratios.

- Samsung Notes widgets
With Samsung Notes widgets, you have the options to choose from a note creator that consists of note writing tools, a note list that shows your notes in sequence, and a single note widget that helps you to place a widget that displays any of your single notes on the home screen.

- Modes and Routines widgets
Interestingly, the modes and routines widgets combine three different widget options to choose from, where you can add multiple routines, a single mode, or a single routine widget on your home screen.
