Samsung Galaxy Watch May Soon Offer Gemini and Earthquake Alert Features

Samsung Galaxy Watch users get ready to experience Gemini instead of Google Assistant and a new life-saving feature that could alert you of earthquakes.

Currently, Google is working on two new novelties to integrate with Wear OS, including Gemini, a new earthquake alerts feature.

Wear OS Watches could get a new Earthquake Alerts feature

Wear OS could soon get a new life-saving feature, it is being speculated by a report from Android Authority. According to the report, Wear OS smartwatches could also get an earthquake alert feature soon, and Samsung Galaxy smartwatches are also based on Wear OS, which means they could also get this feature.

Noticeably, Android smartphones already have an earthquake alert feature pre-installed; now Google is planning to expand this feature to Wear OS smartwatches. This feature would be handy for cellular smartwatch users who leave their phones behind.

Reportedly, Google Play Services for Wear OS v24.49.33 includes strings, which indicates that Google is gearing up to offer earthquake alerts on Wear OS smartwatches soon.

An ‘earthquake alert feature” is a function on a smartphone, typically integrated within the Android operating system, that sends notifications to users seconds before an earthquake hits. On smartphones, this feature functions as smartphones contain tiny accelerometers that can sense vibrations, which indicate that an earthquake may be happening.

Wear OS Watches Could Adopt Gemini as the New Virtual Assistant

Right after integrating the Gemini into smartphones, tablets, and earbuds, Google started working on bringing it to Wear OS watches. Now a report from 9to5Google revealed new strings that indicate Google is actively working on bringing the Gemini to the Wear OS.

Since Google is also working on replacing Google Assistant with Gemini on Wear OS, this means that all the smartwatches based on Wear OS will soon get the new AI-powered assistant, Gemini.

Galaxy Watches are also running on Wear OS, which means that they will also receive Google’s AI-powered assistant, Gemini, instead of Google Assistant.

However, for now, it’s not clear how this new feature will function on smartwatches and exactly when this feature will be available on Wear OS watches.
