It appears like Samsung is looking forward to expanding the January 2025 security patch to more older-generation Galaxy models, while right after pushing the update for the previous S23 lineup, the company has now started distributing the new software for the Galaxy S21 series owners in the US.

The January 2025 security update is now available for the carrier-locked (Dish Wireless) Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra, which can be easily recognized with their new version numbers: G991USQSEGXLBG996USQSEGXLB, and G998USQSEGXLB.

While the update is expected to reach even more carriers over the coming days, the new software is merely a bug-fixing patch, though.

As per the information mentioned in the Android security bulletin, the January patch is full of a lot of fixes that significantly resolve all the security vulnerabilities addressed in the older version in order to help users to have a more safe and secure user experience and even protect the device against external potential threats.

On the other hand, the update further brings stability and efficiency to the overall system behavior, adds certain performance optimizations, applies the latest security patches, and delivers much improved features that in turn offer a smoother, better, and optimized system experience and functionality.
