Samsung Galaxy Watch Goes Family-Friendly with New Kid Mode

Samsung is expanding the safety way on its LTE Galaxy Watch 7 by offering a special and safe mode named ‘Galaxy Watch for Kids.”
Samsung and Google Introduces Kid-Friendly Mode for Galaxy Watch
Samsung collaborated with Google to offer a new mode called “Galaxy Watch for Kids,” which aims to allow kids to stay connected with their parents through calls and texts, even if they are too young for a phone.

The new “Galaxy Watch for Kids” will permit parents to use their cellular-enabled smartwatches to keep connected to their kids and check up on their location without requiring a smartphone. Noticeably, Google’s WearOS platform is essential for this functionality.

With the Galaxy Watch set to Kids mode, it will offer the ability to call and text pre-approved contacts to kids, whereas parents can track their location via GPS. This feature is currently limited to AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile subscribers in the USA.
Noticeably, parents can also use the Family Link on their phone to authorize or block the apps their kids can download on the watch and can also restrict watch functions during school hours to minimize distractions. Additionally, 20 new educational and fun applications from brands, including Barbie, Crayola, and Marvel, are now available for WearOS in the Play Store’s Kids section.
Samsung has made the ‘Galaxy Watch for Kids” mode available exclusively on the LTE Galaxy Watch 7, at least for now. However, it’s not clear whether Samsung will expand this feature to more Galaxy watches later.
