Galaxy S25 Ultra pre-ordered units can’t be activated right away due to US carrier’s process delay

Samsung’s pre-order customers always receive the latest Galaxy smartphone first hand, before releasing devices for sale; similar happened this time as well. The Galaxy S25 Ultra pre-order customers have successfully received their fresh “Ultra” handset units, but wait what? They need to wait a little more for the device’s activation on a few carriers in the US.

While the Xfinity Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers were the first ones to get their brand-new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra units due to Samsung’s extremely fast shipping pattern, they need to face a frustrating delay in the device’s activation; Reddit users have confirmed so.

Specifically, Xfinity Mobile customers in the US (via Reddit) reported that although they have received their fresh pre-ordered Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones, they are blocked from activation and will be activated by the carrier until not before 5th February as the carrier has not yet completed the necessary system updates to support the device.

Alternatively, Metro by T-Mobile customers have also complained that they are unable to activate their Galaxy S25 Ultra devices as the carrier says that the current plan was incompatible with their Ultra models and customers are advised to switch to other plans, but they do not want to do so.

Well, this activation issue of the Galaxy S25 Ultra pre-ordered units seems to be integrated with the SIM cards. It is likely to be affecting the customers who use eSIMs, rather than using traditional physical SIM cards. Also, the networks being operated in the US appear to still be upgrading their system to support Samsung’s newest flagships.
