Good Lock One UI 7 Home Up New Features, Changes, and Customizations

Samsung’s Good Lock is the most versatile suite that consists of a series of different modules to customize various desired settings from lock screen setup to changing the entire phone’s theme. Samsung has finally released a more improved and refreshed One UI 7 Home Up new features and changes that becomes more useful and interactive with Android 15-based One UI 7 support.

Samsung stood by its promise, and finally it has begun releasing a new update for the Home Up module (v16.0.0.56) that brought about a series of significant changes alongside adding some new functionalities that will eventually help users to have a more improved experience while performing customizations to their device’s home screen.

Redesign Good Lock Home Up Plugin’s Main Menu

With One UI 7 support and accompanied by the latest update, Good Lock’s Home Up just received a refreshing makeover. First up, the Home Up’s main UI has been changed a little, offering it a cleaner look by rearranging the sections present on the main page into tiles, while earlier it was just placed one after the other.

Not only this, the update also brings a new Edge Panel section that allows users to perform certain changes on how the Edge panel will appear on their device’s home screen.

Newly added: “DIY Home Screen”

Alternatively, Samsung has also rearranged certain settings options inside the Home Screen tile, while also adding a new DIY Home Screen (running in Beta) toggle that will eventually allow users to decorate their home screen by adding certain stickers, get more stickers by tapping the Plus button, freely move items to the home screen, use easier and convenient editing functions from the selected stickers, drag the target from the picture by just long-pressing, and use it as a sticker directly through the home button, and much more.

Home Gestures gets a new option: The “Home Gesture Animation Tuning”

Samsung also adds a new Home Gesture Animation Tuning under the Gesture Settings tile that will provide users the capability to customize the home gesture animations with just a single tap. The gesture animation tuning offers a few options, including Classic (feel the classic sensibility), Elegance (as elegant as a butterfly), Dynamic (faster and dynamic), Sweet (melts like a cotton candy), Simple tuning (fast or emotionally, just drag the slider), and lastly Advanced Tuning (where you can modify the details of the animation).

Edge Panel

While the Edge Panel offers access to all the most used apps quickly by just sliding the panel to the left from the home screen, which is now divided into three major sections:

Show More items: where users will be able to run more favorite items at once without having to scroll through the entire Edge panel.

Scroll recent apps area: This option allows users to scroll through their most preferred recent apps section to see more recent apps.

Show edge handle in immersive mode: this section permits users to keep the edge handles visible even while using an app in full-screen mode.

New Back up and Restore Option

In the latest One UI 7 update, Samsung has introduced a new “Back up and Restore” feature within the Home Up plugin. This feature allows users to back up their home screen layout, including app arrangements, widgets, and other customizations. Users can choose the backup frequency—immediate, daily, or weekly—ensuring their layout is consistently saved. The restore option enables quick recovery of the saved layouts, with support for up to 20 backup files, making it convenient when switching devices or resetting the phone. This addition enhances user flexibility and security for home screen customizations.

Well, Samsung has done incredible work by redesigning the Good Lock’s Home Up module that integrates the One UI 7 support in order to offer a more immersive experience to the users. Currently, Galaxy S24 and S25 devices can only experience the latest refinements done in the One UI 7 Home Up New Features on Galaxy Store, while it is expected to expand to more eligible Galaxy devices when the stable One UI 7 version is available.
