
Samsung began the February 2025 security update rollout for a bunch of Galaxy devices in the US, where the smartphones, including the older flagship S-series—the S22 and S21—alongside Galaxy Fan Edition models, S23 FE and S21 FE, are receiving the update.
Galaxy S22, S21, S23 FE, S21 FE get February 2025 Update in the USA
Beginning with the Galaxy S22 series, the February patch is available for both the carrier-locked and unlocked units that are recognized with the S90*USQS7EYA5 for locked ones, while the unlocked devices carry the S90*U1UES7EYA5 version number. Whereas, the update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S21 lineup comes with the G99*USQSEGYA5 build number.
Apart from this, the Galaxy S23 FE and S21 FE devices are also getting the same update, and they have been identified with S711USQS6CYB3 and G990USQSEGYA3 version numbers, respectively.
However, security updates primarily focus on enhancing the device’s overall security and core functionality, without introducing any major features or changes. It integrates a lot of fixes for all security vulnerabilities that have been acknowledged within the previous version to provide a safer and more secure user experience while also protecting the device against potential harm.
In addition, the update further adds stability to the overall system behavior and even brings various performance optimizations that help users have a smooth and efficient experience and functionality.
