Samsung is eyeing a more innovative aspect for its wearables by infusing all-solid-state batteries within its next-gen watches; meanwhile, a few reports have been recently circulated, suggesting that the Galaxy Watch 8 series’ launch is already in the line, but does that mean that the company might skip Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 for this year?
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 May Not Arrive This Year – Here’s Why
Originally, Samsung has followed a pattern for its Galaxy smartwatch’s launch, beginning from the Galaxy Watch 4 series (based on Wear OS), that every alternate year, the company switches between Pro and Classic models.
This seems to have changed with the arrival of the Ultra model alongside Galaxy Watch 7, suggesting a clue that Galaxy Watch Ultra 2’s launch could have shifted to the next year, certainly.
Basically, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series consisted of base and Classic models; the Watch 5 arrived with base and Pro models; and lastly, the Watch 6 adopted the same 4th-gen smartwatch pattern and came up with standard and Classic models, where the Classic models have the specialty of a stunning rotating bezel around the display and amazing durability.
However, Samsung skipped the Classic or Pro variant for the current Galaxy Watch 7, replacing it with the Ultra model to significantly showcase that the company is eyeing more innovations, such as making it more durable and adventurous for its wearable fans, and it appears to be looking forward to expanding its Galaxy Watch Ultra lineup with Watch Ultra 2, but not this year.
Beyond this, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic have already made their appearance online, while the Watch 8 Classic has surfaced on the GSMA database with an all-new model number, suggesting that there’s no Watch Ultra 2 this year and it’s possibly been shifted to 2026.
