The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is scheduled for early 2026, and the Ultra variant of the series is anticipated to lack the Magnetic Ring for Qi2 charging.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 lineup as the successor to the Galaxy S25 series, which will include at least three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. The company has yet to release any official details regarding the specifications of the coming series, but leaks and rumors have already started blowing in the market.
The tipster, PandaFlash, on X, shared a text post claiming that the Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t have a Magnetic Ring for Qi2 charging similar to its predecessor.
The recently launched Galaxy S25 Ultra is compatible with Qi2.1 charging with faster 15W wireless charging speeds, but it does not support the magnetic power profile.
Concerning the Qi2 wireless charging, the “magnetic ring” refers to a ring of magnets used to upgrade the alignment between the device and the charger. It results in enhanced charging efficiency and enables faster, more stable wireless charging.
However, the tipster leaked this report based on the early stages of development, and also, there’s no official word regarding this, so it remains to be seen whether the next-generation Galaxy S26 Ultra will lack the Magnetic Ring for Qi2 charging.
