Samsung Bixby Rolls Out Two New Shortcut Features

Samsung is continuously working on expanding its voice assistant, Bixby, by making it more convenient & advanced to enhance user experience. Now it gets a new app shortcut to start voice commands.
Under the hood, the Korean tech giant is gearing up to deliver new features and major improvements to Bixby with the latest Android 15-based One UI 7, including a feature that makes accessing it in your preferred interaction mode easier.
A user on X reports that Bixby is getting two new app shortcuts via a new update with the dedicated version number 3.7.12.18 for a few users. The first shortcut will allow you to type your command, and the second will allow you to say your command.

It also lets you access them by long-pressing the Bixby application’s icon in the app drawer. Previously, you could only access Bixby’s Discover and Quick Commands section via application shortcuts, but now those shortcuts have been removed. The company has been officially informed regarding the new changes and upgrades with an official notice in Bixby’s Notices section.
The changelog noticed by @thatjoshguy69 includes several new tweaks, such as accessing Bixby by long pressing the side button, but once Bixby gets active and starts listening, you can let go of the button, and it will keep listening to you. This means that now you don’t have to keep holding the side button. Apart from these changes, the update will also bring “additional function improvements and bug fixes.”
