Samsung to pay 25% tariff on Galaxy phones sold in the US market

Samsung will face a loss in the United States as Trump has declared to impose a 25% tariff on Galaxy phones sold in the US if they are not made in the US.
Samsung and Apple are rivals of each other in the tech industry, and never miss a single chance to degrade one another, but now both of them are going to be tariff buddies. The US tariff is a new, complicated matter for tech brands such as Samsung and Apple, which manufacture products in several countries and sell them in the US.
In case you miss, A US tariff is a tax levied on products imported into the United States from other countries, which can be set by the country’s government. The aim behind this tariff is to protect domestic industries and achieve foreign policy goals, or as leverage in trade negotiations.
Now, the US President Trump announced that Samsung would face at least 25% tariffs on Galaxy smartphones sold in the US market if it doesn’t make them in the country. A few days back, Trump also posted on his Truth Social platform that “a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the US” in case iPhones manufacture in other country and sold out in the US market.
Reportedly, Trump states that a 25% tariff would be imposed not only on Samsung or Apple, but on any other smartphone manufacturer that builds their goods in other countries and sells out in the US. It remains to be seen how Samsung will deal with this 25% US tariff, as it is yet to release any official statement regarding this decision.
