New Firmware Update Hits Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 Series in the US

Samsung has started distributing a new software update for its smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series, in the US. It bringing the May 2025 Security patch.
Specifically, the latest update for these Galaxy Watches are currently rolling out in the US on the Verizon network, while it is expected to reach more countries gradually.
Meanwhile, the latest firmware for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro carries the version numbers R905USQS1CYE1 (40 mm)/R915USQS1CYE1 (44 mm) and R925USQS1CYE1 (45 mm), respectively, while the update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic is identified with the build numbers R865USQS1IYE1 (40 mm)/R875USQS1IYE1 (44 mm) and R885USQS1IYE1 (42 mm)/R895USQS1IYE1 (46 mm), respectively.
On the other hand, the Bluetooth variants are also getting the same update, where the Watch 4 series carries the build number R8*0XXS1IYE9 and the Watch 5 series comes with the version number R9*0XXS1CYE9.
At the same time, the update significantly integrates the May 2025 security patch that apparently focuses on offering the most updated fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that were preventing users from having smooth performance and functionality. It eventually provides a more secure user experience and protects the devices against sophisticated threats.
Beyond this, both the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series are in the race to receive the newly released One UI 8 Watch Beta program, which is currently available for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra models.
