Samsung’s Tri-Fold Name Might Be Out—And It’s Not What You’d Expect

Samsung has already been working on its first-ever tri-folding phone for so long and now has filed a trademark application for the device, revealing the official name. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming trademark.

Samsung recently held a major Galaxy Unpacked event to debut the next-generation foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Apart from these devices, it was rumored to unveil its first-ever tri-fold phone; however, the report hasn’t come true.

A few months back, it was rumored that Samsung would title its coming tri-folding phone as Galaxy G Fold, but it’s not the case anymore, since the newly filed trademark applications are revealing a new and simple name.

Samsung filed a new trademark for a Tri-Fold phone, hinting the name

A new report from a reliable blog, GalaxyClub, revealed that Samsung has filed a new trademark application for the name “Galaxy Z Tri-Fold” in South Korea. However, the trademark doesn’t immediately make it clear whether it’s the final name of the device or the name of the entire tri-fold series. It might be possible that the reason behind filing the trademark application with this name is to secure multiple naming options, and they might eventually choose a different name.

Recently, Samsung mobile chief TM Roh revealed a launch window on the sidelines of the Unpacked event, revealing that the company is working hard on a tri-fold smartphone, intending to launch it at the end of this year.

The previous report revealed that the coming tri-fold phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It will feature a 10-inch OLED display, a triple camera setup, including a 200MP primary, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto sensor at the back, and a 10MP selfie camera at the front. However, Samsung hasn’t revealed a single detail regarding the specifications and name of the device, so it remains to be seen whether the leaked information will come into existence.
