Samsung’s July 2025 security update rollout is still ongoing;so far, the company has delivered the update for a number of Galaxy devices.
Since the Galaxy S23 series has already been spotted running Android 16-based One UI 8 on internal test servers, at the same time, the 2023 models are getting a new software update, but not what you thought of!
Now, the company is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is now live in Europe, carrying the build numbers S911BXXS8DYG1, S916BXXS8DYG1, and S918BXXS8DYG1, respectively. Well, the units have received the update in other major countries, such as South Korea.
More specifically, the latest update for the Galaxy S23 series significantly integrates the latest July 2025 security update. Samsung detailed the monthly patch, which, however, doesn’t bring any major changes or features; instead, it significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality.
It packs a handful of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that were addressed in the previous version in order to provide a more secure user experience and also keeps the device protected against potential threats. At the same time, the update further adds stability to the entire system behavior for a more efficient functionality and brings certain performance optimizations that eventually offer a smooth and stable experience for the users.
Well, in addition to the major countries, Samsung is expected to expand the latest update for the Galaxy S23 series to more eligible markets in the near future.
