Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 could turn out to be significant for the firm to make more money with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.
For years, the Korean tech giant has been completely relying on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset to power its high-end smartphones. On the other side, the US manufacturers’ continued price increases have made the cost of manufacturing Galaxy phones increasingly expensive.
However, Samsung has its own Exynos chip line, but unfortunately, it has struggled with production rates and performance. Now, it seems that the company could get back on track with the 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset. It’s highly anticipated that the Exynos 2600 chipset will power the next-generation Galaxy S26 smartphone.
Meanwhile, a new report from Newsis states that the Device Experience (DX) division’s chip purchasing costs increased sharply in the first half of this year, reaching 7.7899 trillion won, which is 29.2% more than the same period last year (6.0275 trillion won), and the key reason behind this is the use of top-end Snapdragon for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
This makes trouble for the Mobile Experience (MX) division, as production costs continue to escalate if it maintains its dependence on Qualcomm. All of the above scenarios hint that returning to its in-house Exynos chipset could help Samsung improve performance, power consumption, and production rates.
Previous reports have already suggested that Samsung could power the Galaxy S26 with the Exynos 2600 chipset, at least in selected markets. If the report comes true, then the company would reduce costs and increase profits from its flagship lineup.
