Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold is on the way to launch; a new leak reveals its charging, reverse charging, and NFC payments animation.
Last month, during the 2Q25 Earnings Conference Call, Samsung announced that it will launch its first tri-fold foldable phone called the Galaxy Tri-Fold by the end of this year. The device has already appeared on multiple certifications, such as the Korean Safety and BIS.
Meanwhile, a tipster, @TechHighest, via his X handle, shared three animation videos of the Galaxy Tri Fold, revealing the wireless charging, reverse charging, and NFC payments animation. Let’s take a closer look at each animation.
Reverse Wireless Charging
The animation confirms that the Galaxy Tri-Fold is compatible with reverse wireless charging. You can place your Galaxy Buds, smartwatch, or even another phone on the back of the device, and it will start charging them. The animation shows the coil locations when the phone is folded and unfolded.
Wireless Charging
According to the leaked animated video, the Galaxy Tri-Fold will be compatible with wireless charging support, but it’s not as simple as on a slab phone. The company placed charging coils along the rightmost third of the device when the screen is facing you and also designed an instructional animation showing the correct placement. It’s expected that the animation will appear when you first connect to a charger, during setup, or inside the settings menu.
NFC Payments
The Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will also be compatible with mobile payments via NFC. It allows you to tap-to-pay even when the device is unfolded, which means you will be able to check off a shopping list on the big screen, then pay at checkout without needing to fold the phone shut.
However, these animations are not official; it remains to be seen whether these animated details will come into existence.
