Samsung Opens Pre-Orders for 9100 PRO SSD Series with 8TB Option

Samsung introduced its 9100 Pro series SSDs with an 8TB option, which stands out as the largest storage variant yet in the company’s NVMe portfolio.

Initially, the company launched the 9100 Pro series SSDs with up to 4TB capacity. Now, a few months later, it has expanded the storage options by introducing an 8TB option. Currently, it is available for pre-order from the official online store, alongside the heatsink variant, which offers an additional layer of thermal control.

The 9100 PRO SSD uses PCIe 5.0 and will offer blazing sequential speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s read and 13,400 MB/s write, which makes it twice as fast as the previous generation. Random read/write speeds of up to 2,200K/2,600K IOPS help you to access your favorite games and apps seamlessly and faster than ever before.

Regarding the drive, Jim Kiczek, Vice President of Memory Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, stated, “With more storage, even better speeds, improved power efficiency, and seamless reliability, the lineup empowers users to continue innovating without storage limitations.”

In short, the drive offers up to 49% upgraded power efficiency as compared to the previous models, with a slim profile of 0.44 inches thick. Samsung is offering the 8TB 9100 PRO SSD at $999, while the heatsink version is available at $1,019.
