Galaxy S25 Ultra surpassed iPhone 17 Pro Max in real-life speed test

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra shines in a real-life speed test against one of its biggest rivals, the iPhone 10 Pro Max, as a YouTube video reveals.

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Ultra, powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite, alongside its sibling models. On the rivalry side, Apple recently launched the iPhone 17 Pro Max equipped with the latest A19 Pro chip.

Months after the official launch of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max, a YouTuber has conducted a real-life speed test between both of these devices and shared a review via his channel, ‘PhoneBuff.’

Theoretically, the A19 Pro chip is the most powerful chipset with extremely high benchmark scores that Apple has ever used in an iPhone, which can surpass multiple current Android processors. However, in practical terms, the theory goes wrong, as real-world speed tests, which accurately reflect how users use their smartphones daily, show a completely different result.

Reportedly, during the first round, when the two of these smartphones opened a series of applications from the browser, photo editing, video, and games, the Galaxy S25 Ultra finished the task up to 13 seconds faster. Moving forward, during the second round, while reopening the application from RAM, the iPhone 17 Pro Max shortened the gap but still couldn’t surpass the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The result showcases that Samsung’s device is faster than Apple’s latest iPhone 17 Pro Max. This failure of Apple is even more noteworthy when Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5chipset, which is reported to be even more power-efficient and optimized.
